Salaries, accountabilities and responsibilities of the Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive and members of the Senior Management Team and senior managers within Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority.

  • Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive. Salary: £141,284. Directly responsible to Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority (BMKFA). Required to manage Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service (BFRS) on behalf of BMKFA, satisfying the requirements and duties of the Fire & Rescue Services Act 2004.
  • Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO). Salary: £117,312. Direct all service delivery activities to meet BMKFA’s core aims and objectives and to deliver all Authority operational instructions. Deputise for the Chief Fire Officer.
  • Head of Service Development. Salary: £93,350. Strategic lead for service development, including seeking future opportunities that both inform and support the Authority’s strategic core aims and objectives through innovative working, collaboration and horizon scanning.
  • Head of Service Delivery. Salary: £80,000. Direct all service delivery activities to meet BMKFA’s core aims and objectives and deliver all Authority operational instructions ensuring the successful performance of operational response.
  • Director of People and Organisational Development. Salary: £90,387. Provide strategic leadership and direction to shape and deliver BMKFA's Human Resources strategy and the wider organisational development agenda. Be the principal advisor to BMKFA on all workforce and organisational development matters.
  • Director of Finance and Assets. Salary: £88,000. Act as principal strategic financial advisor to BMKFA, the Chief Executive and its members. Provide technical and professional advice to BMKFA, the Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive, Directors and Brigade Managers.
  • Director of Legal and Governance. Salary: £90,387. Act as principal strategic legal and governance advisor to BMKFA, the Chief Executive and its members. Provide technical and professional advice to BMKFA, the Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive, Directors and Brigade Managers.
  • Area Manager Projects and Transformation. Salary: £73,690. Responsible for delivery of key projects within the Public Safety Plan 2015-2020, leading on the Milton Keynes Transformation Project, which includes the new build of a fire station, new ways of working, and reviewing the resourcing and response models for the area.
  • Deputy Director of Finance & Assets. Salary: (£60,000 - £65,000). Provide overall management of the finance function, ensuring that all financial transactions are undertaken accurately, efficiently and effectively and maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with any relevant legislation for the Authority.
  • Head of Human Resources. Salary: (£55,000 - £60,000). Provide overall management of the Human Resources function, ensuring that all HR advisory, transactional and administrative support to the Authority is delivered efficiently, effectively, accurately and in a timely manner to enable the Authority to achieve its strategic objectives.
  • Resource Manager. Salary: (£55,000 - £60,000). Oversee and manage the Authority’s assets in relation to property, ICT capability, fleet and equipment and to coordinate the provision, contracts and assets to achieve compliance with statutory requirement, governmental and national guidance and value for money.
  • Business & Systems Integration Project Manager. Salary: (£55,000 - £60,000). To drive business change and manage the governance, functional and operational aspects of the Business & Systems Integration project.
  • Group Commanders. Salary: (£65,000 - £70,000). 6 x operational. To support the appropriate Head of Service in the delivery of services against objectives and targets within the appropriate service area,
