Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service's recruitment campaign for apprentices is now underway following the success of the familiarisation days that were conducted last week.

Conor Avery, Apprenticeship Development Officer said: “We are really pleased with how each of the sessions ran and the positive reaction that we received from the delegates that attended. The interest and enthusiasm shown throughout the three days by both the potential apprentices and the BFRS staff who provided assistance and support to this initiative, was fantastic to see.

“We are really excited to be launching the recruitment campaign for our apprenticeships and are looking forward to receiving the application forms and conducting the role-related tests on those making it through the initial sift.”

Although the familiarisation days were aimed at people interested in the firefighter apprenticeships, we are also offering apprenticeships in vehicle repair and maintenance and business administration.

All of our apprentices will be employed by Encompass, an Apprentice Training Agency who will be assisting us throughout the recruitment process for all of our apprenticeships. The successful candidates will then be seconded to us for the majority of their workplace training and development.
