Car wash in aid of two good causes

Firefighters are holding a car wash at Beaconsfield Fire Station in aid of two good causes on Saturday 10 August.
They will share the proceeds between The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support and assistance to serving and retired fire service staff and their dependants, and The Matt Elworthy Fund.
The Matt Elworthy Fund is raising money to support a 44-year-old father-of-two who was diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year. Matt, who lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife Rachel, 16-year-old son Jake and seven-month-old daughter Isabella, is undergoing expensive treatment in London that could increase his life expectancy from just over one year to more than five years.
Rachel said: "Matt wants to see Jake start university next year and to walk Isabella to her first day at primary school. Our aim is to give him as much time with his family and friends as possible."
The car wash takes place at Beaconsfield Fire Station, in Skelton Close, from 10am to 5pm. Burgers, hot dogs and cakes will be on sale, and there will also be a chance to have a look at the station's fire engines and rescue boat.
