Firefighters from Beaconsfield and High Wycombe will be taking the Water Rescue Unit and fire engine down to the Wycombe Wye next week in support of a local conservation project and to help promote water and outdoor safety messages.

The Young Roots Arts and Conservation village is taking place at the Wycombe Swan Theatre Riverside Area between 11am and 3pm between Monday 1 August and Friday 5 August. This is to rejuvenate and landscape the river wye, placing stone berms and vegetation in the concreated areas of the wye for the conservation of wildlife.

Crews from High Wycombe will be attending between 11am and 1pm each day (incident permitting), and crews from Beaconsfield will be taking the Water Rescue Unit along to the initiative between 1pm and 3pm each day (incident permitting).

If you are interested in learning more from our firefighters about outdoor safety or water safety, or even find out about our free Home Fire Risk Checks, come along to the event.

Volunteers are very welcome to assist with this project, if you wish assist please report to the Chiltern Rangers outside the Wycombe Swan Theatre.
