Dates for advanced riding taster days

Mon 22 Feb, 2016

Motorcyclists are being offered the chance to take part in advanced riding taster days at Aylesbury and Marlow Fire Stations in April and June.

The sessions have been organised by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (Motorbike Section), Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and Buckinghamshire County Council’s casualty reduction team.

Each day will include some classroom theory, but the emphasis will be on an observed ride. Participants will receive constructive feedback to help them ride more smoothly and safely. New riders and scooterists are welcome.

Keith Wheeler, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s road safety officer, said: “Rider safety can be enhanced by some simple riding tips, and hopefully these taster days will inspire local bikers to take up further training.”

The dates and venues are:

  • Saturday 16 April, Marlow Fire Station, 10am.
  • Saturday 23 April, Aylesbury Fire Station, 10am.
  • Saturday 11 June, Aylesbury Fire Station, 10am.
  • Saturday 25 June, Marlow Fire Station, 10am.

Cost is £20 for the day, payable on the day direct to the IAM.

Every attendee will have the chance to win a Skills for Life riding package worth £150  from the IAM.
