Four-hour FBU strike called: 13 November

Sun 9 Jun, 2013

The Fire Brigades Union, which is in dispute with the Government over pensions, has today announced another strike date. It is due to take place on Wednesday 13 November 2013 from 10am to 2pm.

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service has plans in place which enable it to continue to provide cover in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes during these periods of industrial action.

Jason Thelwell, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service's Chief Operating Officer, said: “We will obviously prioritise emergency calls where lives are at risk, and we will continue to provide as much information as possible to help people avoid having a fire or other emergency – not just during strike periods, but all year round.”

The union staged a four-hour strike on Wednesday 25 September, a four-and-a-half-hour strike on Friday 1 November and a two-hour strike on Monday 4 November, and postponed a five-hour strike initially planned for Saturday 19 October.
