Marlow flooding update
Sat 15 Feb, 2014
Water levels are being maintained, but are still expected to rise over the next few days. However, they are not expected to reach the levels of last week.
Pumping is now also being carried out in Quarrywood Drive, as well as Garnet Court and St Peter Street.
Crews from the following fire stations have worked in shifts in Marlow since Thursday 6 February: Amersham, Aylesbury, Beaconsfield, Bletchley, Brill, Buckingham, Chesham, Gerrards Cross, Great Holm, Great Missenden, Haddenham, High Wycombe, Marlow, Princes Risborough, Stokenchurch, Waddesdon and Winslow. An HVP (high volume pump) from Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service is also working in Marlow.
Two officers from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service were requested to assist Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service overnight last night. Both were involved in setting up new pumping areas and monitoring water levels around Windsor. In addition, a crew from Gerrards Cross stood by at Maidenhead Fire Station.
In Somerset, the 4x4 Unimog fire engine from Aylesbury Fire Station continues to provide support for the local community. Water levels have risen to just under one metre, which is near the limit for this vehicle.
