Safety centre's 20th anniversary newsletter

Thu 27 Mar, 2014

The spring 2014 edition of Newsflash, marking the 20th anniversary of the Safety Centre in Milton Keynes, has been published.

The newsletter is produced with help from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service as part of its support for the Kiln Farm-based charity, and printed by Thames Valley Police.

The Safety Centre – also known as Hazard Alley – is a purpose-built interactive education facility for children, who are guided through 12 filmset-style safety scenarios in an indoor ‘mini town’.

Since it opened in 1994, nearly 400,000 children have visited it. As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, the Safety Centre is inviting them to write in with memories of their visits, or instances where they have used the things they learnt.

A winner will be chosen at the end of July, and he or she and five friends will enjoy a VIP visit, including a fully guided tour and a look behind the scenes.

Email your memories to info@safetycentre.co.uk, or leave your comment at the bottom of 'Your Letters' page on the Safety Centre's website, www.safetycentre.co.uk.
