Saturday night's FBU strike period ends
Sat 14 Dec, 2013
Tonight’s four-hour strike by the Fire Brigades Union was part of a protest against the Government’s plans for pension reform.
Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service has plans which enable it to continue to provide cover in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes during these periods of industrial action. Firefighters attended the following incidents:
- 5.59pm: False alarm caused by cooking fumes - house fire, Denmead, Two Mile Ash, Milton Keynes. Two appliances and crews attended. This type of incident is called a false alarm, good intent. If in doubt, call 999.
- 9.08pm: Fire in the open (originally believed to be a property fire), Oxford Road, Aylesbury. Two appliances and crews attended. Firefighters used one hose reel.
Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service would like to thank the public for their vigilance tonight and during last night's four-hour strike.
