Barn fire

Bangors Road South, Iver

At the height of the fire 11 appliances and crews were in attendance, along with five officers.

Appliances and crews attending were from:

  • Gerrards Cross
  • Slough
  • Beaconsfield
  • Hayes
  • Ruislip
  • Maidenhead
  • Heathrow
  • Hillingdon
  • Langley
  • Bracknell
  • Aylesbury

A barn was well alight when they arrived. It contained a number of vehicles including a forklift truck, as well as bales of hay and LPG cylinders.

The firefighters used:

  • Three sets of breathing apparatus
  • One hose reel jet
  • One main jet
  • Two ground monitors

The barn was around 50 per cent involved in the fire and around 100 per cent damaged by smoke.

The road was closed while they worked at the scene.

Thames Valley Police also attended to manage traffic and the road closure.

The stop message was sent from the scene shortly after 12noon (Tuesday 13 December 2022). Firefighters remain at the site, turning over and damping down.
