Collision involving five cars

M40 northbound, between Junction 8A, Oxford Services and Junction 9 Wendlebury

One appliance and crew from Slade Park, Oxford, one from Rewley Road, Oxford, one from Thame and one from Kidlington attended, along with two officers.

The road was closed while firefighters evacuated 16 people and one dog from their vehicles and made the scene safe.

The firefighters provided immediate emergency care and used:

One hose reel
One dry powder extinguisher
Absorbent pads

Four people were passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Thames Valley Police and National Highways also attended.
