Field fire
Stratford Road, Foscott
Update issued 10.30pm (Tuesday 9 August 2022):
At the height of the incident, 11 appliances and crews attended the scene from:
- Aylesbury
- Broughton
- Banbury
- West Ashland
- Newport Pagnell
- Bicester
- Deddington
Three officers were also at the scene.
The fire affected two fields, measuring around 300 metres by 250 metres, of standing crop.
A full road closure was put in place and managed by Thames Valley Police.
The firefighters used:
- Three hose reel jets
- Beaters
- Water backpacks
- Thermal imaging cameras
Firefighters left the scene at around 9.20pm, with overnight reinspection planned to check for hotspots.

Eight appliances and crews are currently at the scene, along with three officers.
A field of standing corn is on fire. Multiple calls have been received by Thames Valley Fire Control Service.

Firefighters are currently operating from surrounding roads, which may impact on traffic flow. Anyone expecting to use roads in this area is advised to seek alternative routes or prepare for delays.
