Fire in external gas meter

Past

One appliance and crew from Newport Pagnell, one from Broughton and three from West Ashland attended, along with two officers.

Smoke was issuing when they arrived.

An external gas meter, on the side of a two-storey detached house, had caught fire.

The firefighters used:

  • Eight sets of breathing apparatus
  • One main jet
  • Two hose reel jet
  • A thermal imaging camera
  • A turntable ladder
  • Fog spikes

The ground floor living room, first floor bedroom wall cavity and roof of the house were affected by the fire.

Thames Valley Police attended to establish a road closure while the firefighters worked at the scene.

The gas provider also attended and isolated the gas supply.
