Fire in hotel

Stokenchurch

Appliances and crew from across Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended. Along with an aerial appliance from London Fire Brigade. A total of 10 pumps were made available and 4 officers were on scene. The incident was attended by Thames Valley Police and South-Central Ambulance Service.

The Fire started in the kitchen. Due to the age of the building the fire travelled quickly to the roof of the building. By 21:55 all persons were accounted for following the evacuation of all guests and staff from within the hotel.

The fire was deemed in control the following morning at around 8am however due to the extent of fire damage, age and structure of the hotel, there were several small pockets of fire that continue to burn, therefore an operational presence was maintained throughout the weekend.

The cause of the fire is currently unknow and a fire investigation is ongoing.
