Fire on cooker hob

Aylesbury Street, Wolverton

One appliance and crew from Newport Pagnell and one from West Ashland attended.

The fire, caused by burnt food, was out when they arrived. The firefighters used a positive pressure ventilation fan.

We find that cooking appliances are a common cause of accidental house fires, and many could be avoided if safe storage and cooking practices are followed in the kitchen.

Please don't underestimate the benefit of having working smoke alarms in your home - if a fire does happen these devices can provide an early warning.
