Flat on fire

Flitcroft Lea, High Wycombe

One appliance and crew from High Wycombe, one from Beaconsfield, one from Maidenhead, two from Slough, an aerial appliance from Whitley Wood, and the Command Unit from Maidenhead attended, along with three officers.

Multiple calls were received by Thames Valley Fire Control to a fire involving a block of flats.

The fire was in a flat on the first floor. It spread to affect a flat above and the roof space.

The firefighters used:

  • Eight sets of breathing apparatus
  • Three hose reel jets
  • One main jet
  • Small gear
  • Aerial ladder platform
  • A thermal imaging camera

The gas and electricity supplies to the building were isolated.

The flat on the first floor was 10 per cent damaged by fire and 100 per cent damaged by water. A flat on the second floor was 80 per cent damaged by fire, and the roof was 60 per cent damaged by fire.

Thames Valley Police were also in attendance.
