Hay bales on fire

Appliances and crew from Broughton, Buckingham, West Ashland and Aylesbury attended a fire involving approximately 100 tones of hay bales. To extinguish the fire, Firefighters used

• Four breathing apparatus
• Two hose reel jet
• One main hose reel jet
• Thermal imaging camera
• Water shuttle

Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

Crews returned for reinspection at around 06.51 on the 30/07/2022 where firefighters found minor heat retained in a pile of hay. Firefighters used one hose reel and turned over the area to make the area safe. No further hot spots were identified after this time.
