Two appliances and crews from West Ashland, one from Broughton, one from Buckingham, one from Aylesbury, one from Woburn and two officers attended.
Firefighters used two main jets, one hose reel, two sets of breathing apparatus, a turntable ladder and thermal imaging cameras, and isolated the gas and electricity. The fire caused severe damage to the first floor and roof of the mid-terrace house, and smoke and water damage to the ground floor.
Everyone in the house was able to get out safely. The fire was caused by a tea-light candle in a bedroom. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining properties.
Crews returned during the day to provide reassurance and safety advice to residents. People who were out when they called were left invitations to contact contact us on 01908 236413 or MiltonKeynesAdmin@bucksfire.gov.uk, quoting Kingsfold Hotstrike, to receive advice or register for a Fire & Wellness Visit to discuss fire safety in the home (see first link below).
