Kitchen fire in commercial building
Benbow Court, Shenley Church End, Milton Keynes
One appliance and crew from Aylesbury, one from Broughton, one from Newport Pagnell and two from West Ashland attended, along with four officers.
Smoke was issuing from a ground floor commercial unit, within a three-storey mixed-use building, when they arrived.
The firefighters used:
- Six sets of breathing apparatus
- Two hose reel jets
- Two thermal imaging cameras
- A turntable ladder
- Small gear
The fire spread to affect the roof void of the commercial building, and three adjoining flats.
The kitchen of the commercial building was 100 per cent damaged by fire. The roof was 75 per cent damaged by fire. The three flats were 50 per cent damaged by water and 20 per cent damaged by fire.
Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service were also in attendance. No one was injured in the fire.
