Large bonfire in open ground

Two appliances and crews from Aylesbury and one from Buckingham attended.

A large bonfire, approximately 20 metres by 10 metres, was on fire.

The firefighters used one hose reel to dampen surrounding vegetation to try and prevent the fire from spreading and established a water shuttle.

A mechanical digger from the site was used to turn over and damp down the fire.

The firefighters monitored the scene until around 12noon, with reinspections undertaken during the afternoon.
