Large bonfire

Paddocks Lane, Woburn Sands

Two appliances and crews from West Ashland, two from Bedfordshire, one from Aylesbury and one from Newport Pagnell attended.

A large pile of trees and shrubs measuring approximately 20 metres by 20 metres and approximately 3 metres high was on fire generating a lot of smoke.

The firefighters used:

One ground monitor
Two main jets
One hay drag
Shovels

The incident response was scaled back at around 1.20am on Friday (27 May 2022), however crews remained on the scene into the following afternoon (Friday 27 May) damping down and turning over the smouldering pile of organic waste.
