Large field fire
The Village, Latimer
Eight appliances and one 4×4 vehicle attended a large field fire measuring approximately 400m x 600m. Appliances and crew from Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Aylesbury and Amersham along with appliances and crew from Royal Berkshire and Hertfordshire attended. Three officers, and Thames Valley Police were also in attendance and a Command Unit was in operation. Thames Valley Police assisted with road closures and diverting traffic. The origin of the fire was believed to have started from a garden bonfire.
To extinguish the fire Firefighters used;
- Five hose reels
- one 4×4
- Beaters
Incident update 18:56
Reinspection’s took place at 15.30 and 18.30 Hot spots identified firefighters used water back packs and buckets to dampen down the area.

After reinspection further hot spots were identified. Firefighters used buckets of water to dampen down.
Incident update 11:16 29/11/2022
Further inspections occurred today, 29/07/2022, at 03.31 and at 08.23 where the area was appeared cool. No further re-inspections required.
