One appliance and crew from West Ashland and one from Broughton are in attendance.
A large pile of woodchips, measuring approximately 30 metres by 20 metres by 7 metres is on fire.
The firefighters are using:
- Two hose reel jets with fog spike attachment
- Small gear
- two hay drags
- A thermal imaging camera
They established a water shuttle, and used a mechanical digger with telehandler attachment to help spread the pile to tackle the fire.
The firefighters left the scene at around 9.50pm that day. Crews attended for reinspection the following morning (Friday 1 July 2022) to check for hotspots and smoldering.
