Lorry fire affecting industrial unit
Bransworth Avenue, Brinklow, Milton Keynes
Incident update, 10.30am Saturday 16 July 2022
The “Stop message” has been sent from the incident ground, meaning the appliances and crews at the scene are sufficient to contain the fire.
Scale back of incident response started at around 10.20am.
The fire, which started in an external trailer unit, has effected a single-storey, high bay distribution warehouse with a two-storey office block attached. It also affected four tractor units which have been 100 per cent damaged by the fire.
Power to the affected building, measuring 300 metres by 100 Metres, has been isolated. The firefighters worked hard to ensure the fire was tackled quickly and did not spread to any other units in the area.
During the course of the incident the firefighters used:
- Four sets of breathing apparatus
- Three main jets
- Three hose reels
- An aerial ladder platform monitor
- A thermal imaging camera
- A fire and rescue service drone
An internal sprinkler system within the building activated and operated as a result of the fire.
A reduced number of fire appliances and crews are expected to remain on the site over the course of the day.
Local traffic is likely to be disrupted as a result of this incident, which also has the potential to affect the M1.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area wherever possible, and to check local traffic announcements if planning to travel nearby. If you do need to use local roads or the M1 in this area, please prepare for delays, and ensure you take plenty of bottled water with you.

The fire is affecting a single-storey industrial unit, attached to a two-storey office block. The site, used as a warehouse and external trailer unit, measures around 100 metres by 30 metres.
The firefighters are using:

- Three hose reel jets
- An aerial ladder platform monitor

A lorry fire has spread to affect a commercial unit and multiple trailer units in an industrial estate on Bransworth Avenue, Brinklow, Milton Keynes.
Thames Valley Fire Control is receiving multiple calls to the incident as a large smoke plume is visible from the Monks Hill, Kingston and Kents Hill areas.
