At the height of the incident there were seven appliances and crews at the scene, and two officers.
The appliances and crews attended from:
- High Wycombe
- Windsor Tinkers Lane
The fire was a second floor flat of a three-storey block. The firefighters rescued one man who was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke and burns to his hands. They provided immediate emergency care before passing the man into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
The firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, three main jets, a dry riser, and positive pressure ventilation to clear smoke.
They isolated all services to the second floor. Thames Valley Police were also in attendance and provided a scene cordon.
Crews returned to the scene overnight to carry out a reinspection to check for hot spots in the building.
