Smoke logging to house
Chiltern Road, Chesham Bois
One appliance and crew from Amersham attended.
There was a smell of smoke issuing from the front door when they arrived.
The firefighters used an enforcer to gain entry to the house. They used two sets of breathing apparatus and found that the smoke had been generated by logs stacked next to a log burner.
The firefighters removed the logs and used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke.
In early 2022 our firefighters attended a number of incidents relating to log burners and open fires.
As a result we published a news item containing advice on how to avoid flames spreading further than the fireplace – with temperatures predicted to drop again next week, please take this opportunity to share our safety advice with anyone who uses a chimney in their home or business.
