Field fire
Wapseys Lane, Hedgerley
Updated 12.30pm Saturday 13 August 2022:
Large field fire affecting 45 acres of grassland, woodland and hedgerow.
Incident response began to be scaled back shortly after 7.30pm (Friday 12 August 2022)
Firefighters used:
- Four hose reels
- Water back packs
- Beaters
- Small gear
- A thermal imaging camera
- Buckets of water
Firefighters remained on the site overnight and into the following day, monitoring for hotspots, turning over and damping down the affected areas.
Update at 5pm (12 August 2022):
Seven appliances and crews currently on the scene, attending from:
- Gerrards Cross
- Slough
- Langley
- Maidenhead
- Bracknell
- Amersham
- High Wycombe
- Wheatley
Three officers are also in attendance.
The fire has spread to affect areas of standing crop, grassland, woodland, hedgerow.
Four appliances and crews at the scene, along with one officer.

- Langley
Trees were well alight on their arrival with the flames rapidly spreading across a field towards the M40. Smoke generated by the fire is affecting the motorway, between Junction 1A (M25 interchange) and Junction 2 (Beaconsfield)
Multiple calls are being received by Thames Valley Fire Control Service.
