Two fires in nature reserve
Blue Lagoon Nature Reserve, Drayton Road, Bletchley
One appliance and crew from Newport Pagnell and one from West Ashland attended.
A fire involving dry grass and a hedge, measuring approximately 30 metres by 30 metres, was believed to have been started by a disposable barbecue. The firefighters used one hose reel jet, one beater and a thermal imaging camera.
While at the scene they were notified of a second fire on the opposite side of the Blue Lagoon. This fire measured around 50 metres by 50 metres. This fire is believed to have started in logs, which then spread.
The firefighters used:
- Four water backpacks
- Buckets of water
- A beater
- A hay drag
- A thermal imaging camera
The firefighters left the scene at 4.50 pm (Sunday 21 August 2022).
Thames Valley Police was notified.
