    Fire in the open, Parkside, Furzton, Milton Keynes. One appliance and crew from Olney, which was on standby at Broughton, attended. Firefighters used a bucket of water.

  • Wednesday 18 September, 8.16pm

    Fatal collision involving a car and a box van, M40 southbound between junctions 2 (Beaconsfield) and 1a (M25 interchange). One appliance and crew from Gerrards Cross, one from Langley, one from Slough, one from Dee Road and two officers attended. The driver of the box van, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters released another man, his passenger, injured, and assisted the police and ambulance services.

    Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident above.

    Two large unattended bonfires in field, Askett Lane, Askett. Two appliances and crews from Thame and one from Wheatley attended. Relief crews from Aylesbury attended through the night and in the morning. Firefighters used three main jets, a hose reel, a water tanker and haydrags.

    Firefighters released a woman who was shut in a lift, Coxhill Way, Aylesbury. Two appliances and crews from Aylesbury attended.

    Grass fire affecting area of about nine acres, Bletchley Road, Newton Longville. Two appliances and crews from Broughton, one from Great Holm, one from Newport Pagnell, one from Buckingham, one from Woburn, the Incident Command Unit from Aylesbury and two officers attended (more than 30 people in total). Firefighters used two main jets, water backpacks and beaters.

    Firefighters used a toolkit to release a kitten which was trapped in a cavity wall, High Street, Olney. One appliance and crew from Olney and an officer attended.

  • Wednesday 18 September, 3.59pm

    Firefighters assisted South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Police after a collision involving two cars and a van, Oxford Road, Aylesbury. One appliance and crew from Thame, one from Tring and an officer attended. No-one was trapped. Five adults and three children were out of the vehicles when they arrived. Three adults were assessed by paramedics. One adult was taken to hospital.

    Small fire in kitchen in flat caused by tea towel left on hob, Lamb Lane, Wavendon Gate, Milton Keynes. One appliance and crew from Broughton and one from Bletchley attended. Firefighters used one hose reel and a fan and isolated the electricity to the cooker. There was no-one in the flat. A neighbour was alerted by the smoke alarm and called 999.
