Councillor Roger Reed, Chairman of Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority, laid a wreath at the Firefighters Memorial near St Paul's Catherdal after the annual Firefighters International Service of Remembrance in London on Sunday (9 September).

He was accompanied by Area Commander Dave Norris and members of the Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Ceremonial Party. They are pictured above.

The service was held at St Sepulchre-without-Newgate, in Holborn.

Area Commander Norris said: "After a well-attended service, it was a short walk in the delightful late-summer sunshine led by the ever-immaculate Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Ceremonial Party, culminating in a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial.

"The Ceremonial Party formed part of the ceremonial remembrance parade, with all participating fire and rescue services displaying their respective service standards in the church and during the ceremony at the memorial."

The event was organised by Firefighters Memorial Trust, which exists to recognise the commitment and dedication of all UK firefighters, and those serving in designated British Overseas Territories - particularly those who have died as a result of their duties, serving the community.
