Friday night's FBU strike period ends

Tonight’s strike by the Fire Brigades Union was part of a protest against the Government’s plans for pension reform.

During the period of strike action (6pm to 10pm), Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service was called to the following incidents:

  • 8.47pm: Road traffic collision involving two cars, London Road, between Buckingham and Padbury. Two appliances and crews and an officer attended. Firefighters released a woman, injured, using hydraulic rescue equipment. Another woman was released, injured, before they arrived.
  • 9.23pm: False alarm - fire in the area, Lexham Gardens, Amersham. One appliance and crew attended. Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera. This type of incident is called a false alarm, good intent. If in doubt, call 999.

Another Fire Brigades Union strike will take place tomorrow (Saturday 14 December) between 6pm and 10pm.
