Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is inviting the public to take part in this year's nomination process for its Service Awards For Excellence.

The awards will be handed out at a ceremony in November, which will also include presentations to staff who qualify for long service and good conduct medals.

Station Commander Suzanne Connolly, one of the organisers, said: “Do you know a serving firefighter or any other current member of staff at Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service who has gone above and beyond to help your family, or worked tirelessly to improve your community?

"If so, now is your opportunity to recognise them. We are seeking nominations for staff members, fire stations, departments and initiatives which have made the greatest contribution to improve the service we have provided over the past year."

The categories are:

  • Staff member of the year
  • Fire station/team/department of the year
  • Initiative/special achievement of the year
  • Apprentice of the year
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Exceptional service award

Nominations are open until midnight on Friday 7 July 2017 after which a team of judges will select the winners. They will be notified in August and presented with their awards on Friday 22 September.
