Nominations invited for Service Awards For Excellence

Thu 19 May, 2016

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is inviting the public to take part in this year's nomination process for its Service Awards For Excellence.

The awards will be handed out at a ceremony in November, which will also include presentations to staff who qualify for long service and good conduct medals.

Station Commander Suzanne Connolly, one of the organisers, said: “Do you know a serving firefighter or any other current member of staff at Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service who has gone above and beyond to help your family, or worked tirelessly to improve your community?

"If so, now is your opportunity to recognise them. We are seeking nominations for staff members, fire stations, departments and even initiatives."

The categories are:

  • Staff member of the year
  • Fire station/team/department of the year
  • Initiative/special achievement of the year
  • Commitment to equality and diversity
  • Exceptional service award

Nominations are open until midnight on Friday 15 July 2016 after which a team of judges will select the winners. They will be announced in August and presented with their awards on 30 September. If you nominated a winner, you will be invited to the presentation evening.
