Police investigate unexplained death in Iver

Police are investigating an unexplained death at an address in Iver.

At around 1.30am this morning (10 April), officers from Thames Valley Police attended the scene of a fire at a multi-occupancy home in Denham Road. 

A man was discovered within the property, and paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service confirmed that sadly the man, aged in his fifties, had died. 

His next of kin have been informed and they are being offered support by officers. 

All other residents and staff were safely evacuated from the property and no-one else was injured. The residents have been safely moved to another location.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Carl Wilson said: “Sadly a man has died following this incident. 

“We are working with Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service to establish the circumstances of this incident. At this early stage we are treating the death as unexplained and our investigation is continuing.

“A scene watch will remain in place whilst we conduct our enquiries, no arrests have been made, and further information will follow.”

The incident was attended by fire crews from Gerrards Cross, Slough, Langley and Maidenhead. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to put out the fire. 

Area Commander Dave Norris from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has lost his life, and with the local community.”
