Public invited to send in nominations for 'SAFE' presentations

Fri 26 Jun, 2015

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is inviting the public to take part in the nomination process for a new annual initiative called the Service Awards For Excellence.

The awards will be handed out at a ceremony in October, which will also include presentations to staff who qualify for long service and good conduct medals.

Station Commander Tim Parkins, one of the organisers, said: “Do you know a serving firefighter or any other current member of staff at Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service who has gone above and beyond to help your family, or worked tirelessly to improve your community? If so, now is your opportunity to recognise them.

“We are seeking nominations for staff members, fire stations, departments and even initiatives."

The categories are:

  • Staff member of the year
  • Fire station/team/department of the year
  • Initiative/special achievement of the year
  • Exceptional service award

Nominations are open until midnight on 31 August 2015, after which a team of judges will select the winners. They will be announced in September and presented with their awards on 23 October. If you nominated a winner, you will be invited to the presentation evening.
