Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service serves the area covered by the Buckinghamshire Council and Milton Keynes Council. To oversee the service, these two councils appoint members to the Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority. The number of members appointed is proportional to the population they represent.
The Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority is a publicly accountable body. Members are responsible for making decisions on policy, finance, and resources. The Authority’s main responsibilities include:

Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority meet four times a year, with an annual meeting in June.
During this meeting, the Chairman is elected, the Vice-Chairman is appointed, and committee membership
is determined.
