Marlow flooding update
Tue 18 Feb, 2014
Water levels in the upper Thames have peaked and are expected to remain high over the coming days, but downstream levels - specifically in Marlow - are expected to drop. However, groundwater levels continue to present a potential flooding risk to local residents.
Group Manager Steve Wells from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service said today: "Our operational commitments in Marlow and Somerset continue, with no real change to previous updates.
"Community engagement activities continue in the Marlow area, with the main focus on providing safety information to residents so that they remain prepared for any further flooding.
"The forecast for the next three days remains unsettled. Although brighter spells are expected, some rain and drizzle remain likely.
"While we are not at the recovery stage yet, all the groups involved in the flood relief work have plans in place which are ready when needed."
