Two appliances and crews from West Ashland attended.
Smoke was issuing on arrival, a fire was located within the kitchen of the property.
The firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel, a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
They also isolated the gas and electric supply and provided advice to the occupants.
The kitchen was approximately 20 percent damaged by the fire and approximately 30 percent damaged by smoke.
