One appliance and crew from Gerrards Cross, one from Hertfordshire and one from Amersham attended, along with an officer.
The firefighters stabilised one of the cars, and used hydraulic rescue equipment to release one man, injured. The man was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
Thames Valley Police and National Highways also attended.
