Boat fire

Past

One crew from Broughton, one from West Ashland and one from Newport Pagnell attended, along with an officer.

The front of a 50 foot canal boat was on fire when they arrived. The boat was moored to the side of the canal.

One woman, one girl, one cat and one dog were all out of the boat, before they arrived.

The firefighters used:

  • Two sets of breathing apparatus
  • One hose reel jet
  • A thermal imaging camera
  • Small gear
  • One rescue boat

They isolated the canal boat’s battery and carried out a home fire safety visit. The boat was around 20 per cent damaged by fire
