One appliance and crew from High Wycombe, one from Wokingham, one from Caversham and the Heavy Rescue Unit from Theale attended, along with an officer.
A pony had become trapped in a trench that was around four feet deep. The firefighters worked with a vet and the owners to release the pony.
The firefighters used hand tools to create space around the pony, which had been sedated. They then used strops and a crane on the Heavy Rescue Unit to lift the pony to safety.
The pony was left in the hands of the owner and the vet.
