One crew from Newport Pagnell, two crews from West Ashland, along with two officers attended a roll‑on roll‑off skip containing household waste that was smoking but showing no visible flames.
Crews gained access using ladders and used one hose reel jet to cool the contents and prevent fire spread. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for any signs of hidden hot spots within the waste.
