Two crews from High Wycombe, one crew from Gerrards Cross, one crew from Amersham and one crew from Marlow, supported by a wildfire unit from Chesham, Maidenhead and water carriers from Princes Risborough and Rewley Road, along with one officer, attended a fire involving a large pile of woodland waste which was well alight on arrival.
Firefighters used two hose reel jets, thermal imaging cameras and a wildfire unit to contain the fire and prevent it spreading to surrounding land.
Crews remained on scene overnight carrying out regular inspections, monitoring hotspots and damping down affected areas. Water carriers were used to shuttle water to the incident due to issues with the local water supply.
