One appliance and crew from Broughton and one from Newport Pagnell attended, along with an officer.
A collision involving two vehicles was affecting lanes three and four of the motorway.
The firefighters removed the roof of one of the vehicles to release two women, injured, who were cared for by Southy Central Ambulance Service. A third woman released herself from the vehicle she had been travelling in and was also cared for by the ambulance service.
National Highways also attended.
