In May 2024, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) conducted a revisit to review our progress in addressing the concerns identified in our 2023 inspection, specifically in the areas of Prevention, Protection, and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
We are pleased to share that the HMICFRS has released their findings, which acknowledge the significant progress we have made. The letter detailing their findings can be found here: BFRS Causes of Concern Revisit Letter
Chief Fire Officer Louise Harrison said,
“We are encouraged by the findings of the HMICFRS revisit, which reflect the hard work and dedication of our team in addressing the identified concerns. Our focus remains on continuous improvement and ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. While we are proud of the progress made, we acknowledge that there is still work to be done. We appreciate the community’s support and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of service.”
A follow-up visit is scheduled for late September 2024 to focus on the embedding of changes in Prevention and Protection. While we have made significant strides, we remain committed to continuous improvement and ensuring the safety of everyone in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.
