Public Safety Plan

Integrated Risk Management Plan

Setting out the five-year strategy for the provision of fire and rescue services in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.

The plan is developed using integrated risk management planning methods and is designed to conform to the Government’s guidance in relation to the preparation of integrated risk management plans.

The current plan covers 2020 to 2025 and is the blueprint for the way Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service will work over the five-year period. It was approved by Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority in February 2020, and supersedes the 2015 to 2020 plan.

We are very proud of the work that we do, and we care passionately about your safety from fire and other emergencies.

The Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Public Safety Plan 2020 to 2025 is available to download below.

This plan sets out how we will provide a fire and rescue service in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes for the five-year period from 2020-2025. It builds on our achievements over the last five years, considers changes to the risks facing our community, and how we plan to change our services to keep residents, communities and businesses safe from fire and other emergencies.

Government guidance requires that fire and rescue authorities consider national and regional as well as local risks. This Public Safety Plan has been developed using integrated risk management planning methods and is designed to conform to the Government’s guidance in relation to the preparation of integrated risk management plans.

Please refer to the supplementary information section of this plan for more information on the Government’s guidance and the legal requirements for fire and rescue service plans.

Before this plan was presented to the Fire Authority for approval, we published it for consultation. This process ran from 23 September to 18 November 2019, and included focus groups with members of the public, meetings with union representatives and an online questionnaire open to all. Hundreds of partner and community organisations were also invited to participate. A copy of this consultation can be downloaded below.

The final version of our plan was approved by Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority during its meeting on Wednesday 12 February 2020. A final version of this plan can be downloaded below.
