Business fire safety questions answered

Be prepared! Answers to fire safety queries for businesses starting to operate again

With more businesses, including pubs and restaurants, able to open their doors to the public again this weekend (4/5 July 2020), there may be additional questions on the minds of those running, working or visiting, about how fire safety can be maintained alongside the challenges brought on by new ways of working.

Group Commander Phill Mould, Head of Protection for Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, said: “We are here to support you the best we can during these challenging times, while ensuring compliance is met with fire safety legislation to keep all staff, customers and visitors safe when they are on your premises.

“We hope this opening weekend will be a success for you, and wanted to help where we can, so our Protection Team has brought together some question we think you could be asked and provided answers and links to further information, as we all continue to stay alert to control the virus.”

New ways of working may mean that your business needs have changed, and so it is important to review your fire risk assessment to ensure that it reflects how your business is now operating – view the Question and Answer sheet from our Protection Team, and more information by clicking the links below.
