Congratulations to the winners of the NFCC Apprenticeship Awards!

Celebrating Excellence in Apprenticeships

As a forward-thinking service we’ve embraced a diverse range of apprentices across different departments, from Firefighters to ICT, Marketing and more! These talented individuals have brought fresh perspectives, diversity of thought, dedication, and innovation to our team.

This year, the NFCC (National Fire Chiefs Council) held an Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony, following on from their Annual Spring Conference for senior leaders within the Fire Services. The awards were open to all Fire Services across the country. We proudly put forward some of our awesome apprentices to recognise their outstanding achievements and contributions to our Service.

Let’s celebrate our remarkable nominees:

Isabel CarrollFinance Apprentice. She completed her apprenticeship with a distinction in all three components! We nominated Izzy for Non-Operational Apprentice of the Year.

Rachel NeilEmployee Development Officer. Her unwavering dedication to coaching and supporting our staff in their development journey has been nothing short of exceptional. She was nominated for Excellence in Apprenticeship Support.

Annie Copping – Digital Marketing Apprentice. With fresh ideas and talent for thinking outside the box she has transformed our social media campaigns. Her engaging content resonates with both our communities and staff. We nominated Annie for Non-Operational Apprentice of the Year.

Kai DayFirefighter. His commitment to his role as a firefighter and local charity work has not gone unnoticed. He was put forward for not one, but two awards! He was nominated for Outstanding Apprenticeship Project and Operational Apprentice of the Year.

We were delighted to be winners and a runner up in two categories, following being shortlisted

Kai, won the award for Outstanding Apprenticeship Project.

Annie, was the runner up for Non Operational Apprentice of the Year.

The awards were attended by the shortlisted nominees, their line managers along with members from our Organisational Development and Senior Team who were attending the NFCC Spring Conference.  Attendee CFO Louise Harrison said

The dedication, fresh perspectives, and unwavering commitment our apprentices have, drive our organisation forward. As we celebrate their achievements, we also recognise that this is a step further on our journey together—a journey fuelled by ambition, innovation, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

It’s indeed wonderful to witness our service being recognized at a national level!

Our approach to apprenticeships reflects our commitment to professional standards and ambition. These talented individuals are the future of our service, and their contributions inspire us all.
