This International Control Room Week (21–27 October 2024), we’re proud to highlight the incredible work done by the team at Thames Valley Fire Control Service (TVFCS). Serving Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire, TVFCS handles emergency calls and coordinates the deployment of fire and rescue resources, ensuring a swift and effective response to protect our communities.
Control rooms are the heart of emergency services, playing a vital role in managing critical incidents around the clock. From coordinating emergency responses to offering vital support to those in distress, control room teams work with precision and calm to ensure that help arrives where it’s needed most.
Why We Celebrate
International Control Room Week is an opportunity to recognise the commitment, professionalism, and resilience of these unsung teams who are the first point of contact for anyone in need. Every emergency call they handle could save lives, and their work enables our firefighters to do their jobs effectively.
A Special Visit to TVFCS
To mark this important week, Simon Tuffley will be visiting the control room to meet the team and take part in their activities, acknowledging the hard work they do every day.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Simon Tuffley, shared;
“Our control room teams are the backbone of our emergency response. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure help reaches those in need. I look forward to spending time with the team at TVFCS this week to recognise their dedication and contributions.”
