Fire Station Open Days 2024 – Thank you!

Fire Station Open Days 2024 – Thank you!

In a burst of excitement and community cheer, three of our fire stations recently opened their doors for a series of lively open days! These events were all about bringing the community together, raising funds for local charities, and giving everyone a chance to meet their local firefighters who proudly serve Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.

The generous donations collected will make a big difference for local charities, showcasing the incredible community spirit and the strong bond between our fire crews and the residents we protect.

Thank you to Storey Photography for photos from Amersham’s Open Day and Mark Begley for photos from West Ashland’s Open Day.

This year money was raised for:

  • The Fire Fighters Charity
  • Thames Valley Air Ambulance
  • The British Heart Foundation
  • Restore Hope
  • The South Central Ambulance Charity
  • The Curtis Palmer Programme

Our first Open Day this year took place at Broughton Fire Station on Saturday 10 August.

This event was packed with entertaining stalls and proved to be extremely busy from start to finish.

We are pleased to share they raised £2877.80!

The next Open Day took place at Amersham Fire Station on Saturday 24 August.

Amersham Station Commander Adam Moore said

“Amersham Fire Station, in partnership with Restore Hope, hosted its first open day in several years. Despite the wet weather, our community came together in their raincoats and umbrellas in hand to enjoy a day full of fun activities. These included exciting displays from the duty crew, raffles, the chance to sit in the fire engines, and a bouncy castle for the kids. Visitors also had the opportunity to learn important fire safety tips and contribute to raising a significant amount of money for The Firefighters Charity and Restore Hope.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and to all those who helped organise and run the event, many of whom volunteering their time. Your efforts made the day a great success.”

We’re pleased to share Amersham raised £1354.88!

Finally, we co-hosted a Blue Light Hub Emergency Services Open Day at West Ashland Fire Station on Sunday 25 August.

Crew Commander Hunter shared ‘This year’s Open Day was a great success, we saw many members from our local community. Thank you to everyone who came along to support! We’re pleased to share we raised £2084 for charity!’
